Practice Track Update

This is for Chorale...if you're not in Chorale, you can stop reading.

I have removed the practice tracks for Jubilate. You should know it by now. I have added tracks for "The Conversion of Saul." Go here to listen.

Also, I'm very close to finalizing the roster for Chamber. Thank you for all that auditioned!

Listening Log Incentive

Hey everyone. We've had a very successful 4 weeks of rehearsal. I feel that we are accomplishing a lot and we're ready to move on to other music. How exciting!!

It's also time for another Practice Log incentive. Anyone that brings a 3x5 note card with your name and a drawing of a "Listening Log" on it, will receive a bonus point on their Practice Log. The cards must be in my box by the time class starts next Wed. Feb 1 (it can be before).

Just to give you another taste of the "Piano Guys" (in case the Cello Wars wasn't enough for you), here's Michael Meets Mozart by Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson.

New Pictures!! (Finally)

I've finally put new pictures on the website from the Fall Concert as well as the Holiday Concert. Go here to view them!

New Year

Happy 2012!! Sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything. As you all know, last semester was insane! This semester should be better. I'm already feeling better about this semester.

I've posted rehearsal tracks for Chamber Choir, Chorale, and Women's Chorus. Go to the GHS Choir Page (which, by the way, has a new picture as well) and visit the page for your specific choir.

Also, anyone that reads this and becomes a follower of this blog (over to the right) or already is a follower, write "Follower" on your practice log due 1-11 and you will get an extra point on your practice log grade.

Cheers!

Pops in the Park Recap

Hey everyone! I wanted to let you know that I thought that Pops in the Park was very successful this year. I was pleased with your singing and your behavior! I'm already looking forward to next year (especially since I won't have a new baby the day before).

I've posted some pictures and audio files to our choir website. Click here to see the pictures and click here to hear the audio tracks.

Posting Comments

It is possible to post comments on the blog. Click "comments," write what you need, choose anonymous, you'll then be asked to enter in a verification word. It should all work. I got it to work for me, at least.

ASW Audition Tracks Now Available

The audition tracks are up and available. I will be burning some CD's this week and distributing them in class, but you are welcome to download the files yourself - especially if you'd rather have the files as MP3's instead of CD's. Just follow these simple instructions:

1) Go to www.oaktreerecordingservices.com
2) Click on "Auditions" in the menu on the right hand side of the screen.
3) Download the appropriate files - REMEMBER: we're in Southwest.

Be sure you SAVE the file before you OPEN it. Otherwise, you will have an incomplete download.

Addition of a new choir member!

I'd like to publicly announce the birth of Juliana Caroline Danielson! She's absolutely beautiful! She was born on 9/16/11 at 12:27 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. Mom is recovering well. Juliana met her siblings yesterday. They were thrilled!

By the way, I felt Pops in the Park went well! Thank you Chorale and Chamber Choir for your hard work and determination to make it successful!
